Jesus warned his disciples there would be a revival of thieves in the last days who would deceive if it were possible even the elect. We know not all disciples are clean. Judas Ischariot was the treasurer and betrayed Jesus for filthy lucre‘s sake. Demas left the apostle Paul because he loved the things of the world, hence the love of the Father was not him. The Spirit says expressly that in the latter days some shall depart from the faith , giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, having their conscience seared as with a hot iron. Now is apostasy, the falling away from the truth. Sinners’ hearts failing them for fear of judgement.
