"LUSTING TO ENVY: THE SPIRIT OF MAN"

“Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?”
‭‭James‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lust is the spirit of the natural man.
Born of the sinful flesh that dwells in every man.
ALL HAVE SINNED BECAUSE ALL WERE DEAD
IN TRESPASSES AND SIN.
The sinful state of man degenerates progressively as he hardens his heart
against the laws of God because they are ABHORRANT to him.
Because his deeds are evil. And everyone that does evil, HATES THE LIGHT.
The seeing and hearing of the commandments of God condemns the sinner.
The OFFENCE of the cross is revealed in the rage of the heathen.
CRUCIFY HIM! AWAY WITH HIM!
But why? What evil has He done?
"HE CAME UNTO HIS OWN, AND HIS OWN RECEIVED HIM NOT."

THE FULLNESS OF ENVY. ADULTEROUS AND PERVERSE GENERATION.

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts,
to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:
for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly,
and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,
God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness;
full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God,
despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God,
that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same,
but have pleasure in them that do them.”
(Romans‬ ‭1:24-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬)
“And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying,
Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner,
whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them,
Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying,
Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day
in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude
that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?
They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done?
But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made,
he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying,
I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus,
he delivered him to be crucified.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall,
and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head,
and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him,
and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him,
and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.”
‭‭(Matthew‬ ‭27:11-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

LUSTING TO ENVY

First the blade: earthy.
then the ear: sensual;
after that, the full corn in the ear: devilish.
EARTHY. SENSUAL AND DEVILISH

“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest,
and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out;
and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself,
and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.”
‭‭"Matthew‬ ‭12:43-45‬ ‭KJV‬‬"

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭(Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

“And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬
