Our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified in the city spiritually called Sodom and Egypt. The churches, neither cold nor hot, whose pastors are hirelings, care not for the poor in spirit, neither are they ashamed of ungodliness and worldly lusts, nor can they blush when they lift up unholy hands as a form of worship to be seen as righteous. Inwardly, they are ravenous beasts turning the grace of God into the pride of life and political salt that has lost its savor and is good for nothing. The word is then made void through vain jangling and the philosophies of carnal men with uncircumcised hearts giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, always resisting the Holy Ghost, having their consciences seared as with a hot iron. These are they who are sensual, having not the Spirit who make those converted by their smooth words and fair speeches, two-fold more the children of hell than themselves. Another gospel manufacturing hypocrites who cannot cease from sin because they are found to be liars. This revival is not without lying signs and wonders deceiving if it were possible even the elect. Jude would put us into remembrance that we should contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints and that the Lord after he brought the people out of Egypt afterward destroyed those who believed not as an example for those who once knew the way of salvation and tasted of the holy written word inspired by the Holy Spirit, but afterward because of persecution and temptations, they became offended at the hard sayings and teachings of Christ and followed him no more but feigningly by outward appearance as holier-than-thous. And no marvel, Satan himself appears as an angel of light and transforms his servants of sin as ministers of faith.
