For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Sobering, isn’t it? that Jesus warned, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! And if your eye offends you - pluck it out and if your hand offends you - cut it off. For it is better to be maimed and enter into the kingdom of heaven, then for one to be headlong, full body, cast into hell - where the fire is not quenched and the worm never dies. Meanwhile, the Pharisees and Sadducees council together how they may kill Jesus.
