"like passions". + Ekklesia, message 13

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain:
and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again,
and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭17-18‬)

Pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Ask for the heathen who rage against the Christ. That they may bow down and worship at your feet, and the pastors who rule by their power subverting whole houses, shall be put to confusion and stammering lips. "Break their teeth, O Lord," break out the teeth of the liars seeking and teaching whom they may devour through covetousness and vain deceit. Pull down their high towers, O Lord! Root out the leaven of hypocrisy in their midst. Throw down the altars of their golden calves and cast down their high looks and haughty spirits. make a show of them openly. Throw down the wickedness in high places and images of jealousy.
