Depression - reveals a spirit of heaviness caused by a besetting sin.
When pressed down by this spirit you cannot open your mouth to worship the Lord God in the right spirit and in truth. A besetting sin gives place and authority to the enemy, our adversary the devil. Complaining is the fruit of an evil tree with bitter roots.
Sin is condemned by the Holy Ghost when lust is conceived in the body of sin and death. The old Adamic nature.
Jesus said, If any man come after me, let him deny ungodliness and worldly lust and take up his cross. We crucify the deeds of the filthy flesh by cutting off the hand that feeds its lusts.
“It is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
